Stone, timber, wood poem

Stone, timber, wood,
standing here since time began,
unmovable except by man,
unmoveable except by nature,
with its wildest plans,
for of such forms,
we have shaped our homes,
and sculpted celebrations,
celebrations of the beauty of woman and man,
and the years have evolved,
such complexities from the Earth,
for we work as we will,
and nature works it, and we rebuild,
we rebuild when nature allows,
when it allows the weather to be kind,
and stone, timber, wood,
they have protected us from the cold and the heat,
since such it sprang forth from the Earth,
and of the heat,
and of its cool qualities,
we have learned of their worth,
for they have nurtured us and our families,
and we praise them,
for we are of them as of the Earth,
and millions of years old is the planet,
and it carries our hopes,
and it carries our dreams,
and is everything to us,
but we are only but an insignificant speck to it,
the universe.
