Stories, poetry and art for a brighter world.
On holiday for the next six months. Messages to the team will be on here. I am burnt out and exhausted after years of working thirteen to twenty hours a day. Thank you so much to everyone who has so kindly supported, encouraged and helped me promote my writing, it has been the best support in the world. I deeply and sincerely appreciate it. It has been a very long couple of years sorting a business out. Favourite quote, Queen Camilla. “Please remain true to your calling, unimpeded by those who may wish to curb the freedom of your expression or impose limits on your imagination.”

The darkness of the soul

The darkness of the soul,
oh, how often there is little else,
yes, yes when you live in a world so cold,
so, cold that whenever you try to drag yourself up,
from the blackness it enters you like the devil,
and oh, how you wish it would go, the darkness of the soul,
the darkness of the soul,
for in the city streets,
and in the poverty,
and in the gangs and in the drugs,
and in the violence,
oh, such crushing blows that spread death and disease,
and of what use are these,
and of what use is failing to do nothing,
and what use is solving nothing permanently,
and it is frustrating,
and how often humanity seems lost,
when all is black and the cost,
the permanent darkness of the soul.
