What of modern society, and of capitalism,
of in which we are cocooned,
oh, what a malignant thought it is,
because we spend far too many hours slaving away,
to pay for housing,
to pay off the mortgage,
only to be put into a care home,
when we are elderly,
and for our houses to be sold,
and for all our money to be consumed by paying for care,
and how many hours do we spend working,
and how many do we spend on materialism too,
and working all hours to have the latest fad,
and bending too often to peer pressure too,
and what is the point of the stress,
when the idea of most products these days,
is to make your life easier,
but it has the opposite effect,
and for convenience’s sake,
bills skyrocket no less,
yes, what a mess,
what a mess it is true,
now, wouldn’t you,
rather spend more time with your friends,
and your family than you do?
