A brand new short Space 2047-style story inspired by the uploaded manuscript and its characters.
Salomina was enjoying a rare peaceful morning when the bathroom mirror informed her that an armpit grooming robot from Betelgeuse 9 had filed a complaint. The complaint was three hundred pages long, scented with lavender and addressed to “the woman with suspiciously memorable elbows.”
Brian said legal documents should never be scented. Cedric said lavender made him think of romance, robots and a regrettable incident with a trouser press. Karen suggested launching the complaint into space, but the complaint had already hired a solicitor drone.
The ship’s archive displayed a related note from the source manuscript: An act with which he has attempted to win the hearts of ladies throughout the galaxy, but an act that has been mostly unsuccessful unfortunately for Brian. Brian is on the whole, a man with delusions of grandeur. And…
A moment later, twelve tiny grooming robots marched through the air vent, each carrying a banner reading FAIR PAY FOR SHAVING. Their leader, a silver machine with dramatic eyebrows, accused Salomina of causing emotional distress to professional hair removal technology. Salomina replied that any robot emotionally distressed by armpits was in the wrong career.
The robots gasped in binary. Brian offered mediation. Cedric offered snacks. Karen quietly reprogrammed their protest chant so that every slogan ended with “and please buy Space 2047.”
Within minutes the rebellion became a marketing campaign. The robots formed a barbershop quartet, sang about galactic hygiene and agreed to drop the complaint in exchange for a small dressing room and the right to insult Brian’s socks every Tuesday. Salomina accepted. Brian said his socks had legal rights. The socks declined to comment.
